PHOTO GALLERY: Virginia City Camel Races Delight All-Age Crowd

Yesterday was full of action at the Virginia City camel races. Comedy, action, suspense and even the occasional scare were all at hand. A few crashes and spills befell the local media riders, but other than some possible bruising of an ego here and there everyone came out smiling, and walking.

The announcers kept the crowd laughing and provided information on the various animals racing, even the chickens. A great mixture of competitive racing and humorous intermissions kept the event varied and fresh. There is still plenty of racing to be had Saturday and Sunday.

Guests of the Bucket of Blood Saloon were surprised by a gust appearance in the bar, a full grown camel. There were selfies and photos aplenty for those lucky enough to be in the right place at the right time. View the photos below.
