Recent Fires Spark Increased Awareness

The Reno Fire Department is asking residents to take actions toward fire prevention.  As summer approaches, recent fires in northern Nevada has prompted concern for the surrounding areas and city officials are encouraging residents to “Create a Defensible Space.”

There are two simple steps to follow: create and implement an evacuation plan, and be alert to red flags flown at fire stations warning of high fire danger.  Along with these two easy to follow safety requests, a link (below) provides a quick and informative read on how to create the defensible space and why they are so important for protecting homes.
