The Reno Police Department is requesting the public’s help in finding the driver of a vehicle who struck and killed a pedestrian today at 5:50 am.
The collision occurred at the intersection of Fourth Street and Spokane Street.
“It is believed the pedestrian, who is a 55-year-old-male, was legally crossing Fourth Street at Spokane when he was struck by a vehicle that was traveling at a high rate of speed westbound on Fourth St. with the vehicle’s headlights off,” police said in a statement. “The pedestrian was pronounced deceased on scene, and is not being identified at this time pending family notification.”
The vehicle is described as a newer, light-colored, full-sized pickup truck. It fled west on Fourth Street.
“Investigators are currently interviewing witnesses, and reviewing video from multiple downtown businesses in an attempt to identify the driver of the aforementioned truck,” police said.
