Juvenile Shooting Victim Dies

The Reno Police Department announced today that the 16-year-old male who was shot Tuesday, December 29, 2015, at Pat Baker Park has died from the shooting.

“Initial investigation revealed that some type of altercation occurred in the park involving the occupants of the vehicle and the suspect. As the vehicle was leaving the area, the suspect produced a handgun and fired into the vehicle, striking the 16-year-old male driver in the head, which caused him to crash onto the curb,” according to police

He died this weekend at Renown Medical Center. Because if his age, his name is not being released.

A 15-year-old defendant was arrested by police has been charged with open murder.

This case is going to the Washoe County District Attorney’s Office to determine whether the defendant will be tried as an adult.
