VIRGINIA CITY — After launching last Nevada Day, Virginia City’s Cemetery Gin has been making an impact for the Comstock Cemetery Foundation.

One dollar from the sale of each bottle of the Nevada-grown spirit is donated to the foundation. The first check for $360 is just the start, and ongoing quarterly contributions will also be provided.

“This is a phenomenal product, and we are so glad to see it come to fruition for all of Virginia City,” said Candace Wheeler, executive director of the Comstock Cemetery Foundation. “The funds generated from sales are going to help our foundation be successful preserving these historic cemeteries for years to come. We are so grateful for the support.”

“We wouldn’t have developed this product if we couldn’t donate a portion of the funds to the Cemetery Foundation,” said Deny Dotson, director of tourism for Virginia City Tourism Commission. “It’s important to us to help preserve the history of our town, and this is a fun way to do it where everybody wins.”

Cemetery Gin available at the Virginia City Visitors Center, at saloons in Virginia City and numerous locations in northern Nevada. The spirit was spearheaded by the Virginia City Tourism Commission, and the gin is produced by Frey Ranch Estate Distillery in Fallon
