DOWNTOWN: Police Seek Witnesses to Vehicle-Pedestrian Accident


The Reno Police Department is seeking witnesses to an accident on Vine Street where a pedestrian was struck by a vehicle near Fifth Street. The pedestrian ultimately died from injuries.

The accident happened about 6:30 p.m. on December 23, 2015. The vehicle was driving north on Vine.

According to police, “When officers arrived on scene, the pedestrian was conscious but had sustained serious injuries. The pedestrian was transported to a local hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries.

“The driver of the vehicle remained on scene and is being cooperative with investigators. Alcohol and drugs do not appear to be a factor with the driver, but alcohol may have been a factor with the pedestrian.”

The pedestrian has been identified as 52 year old Emilo Navarroza.
