The Children’s Cabinet is celebrating its 30th Anniversary by giving more than 1,700 families a holiday season they won’t soon forget.
The annual Adopt-a-Family was held on December 16 at the Children’s Cabinet. For more than 10 years this program has helped countless families in our community during their time of need.
With the help of local businesses like Microsoft Licensing and IGT, families in need are adopted every year. Each adopted family member provides a wish list and those adopting the family shop for those items. Gift items include anything from toys to household items to food and clothing.
Margaret Vann and her family are one of the many recipient families this year.
“It’s rewarding to me,” said Vann. “I am totally grateful for The Children’s Cabinet for giving me the opportunity to still work and have a life. They have helped me with daycare costs, and have provided me with holiday gifts for my foster family.”
