International Milk Bank, a Sparks-based company, has been named the regional winner of the annual SBA InnovateHER Challenge competition. Now, they will be competing with winners from more than 100 other regional competitions for national honors.

The national cash prizes provided by Microsoft Corp. include $40,000 for first, $20,000 for second and $10,000 for third and will be announced in mid-March.

International Milk Bank is developing a system to provide sterile human milk to infants around the world.

“It’s our core mission to partner with mothers to meet the needs of babies, especially high-need babies in neonatal intensive care units,” said Glenn Snow, the company’s chief executive officer.

Crowded Reality, a Reno-based crowd-funding platform for televised reality programming, won second place.

The competition was co-sponsored by the Nevada District Office of the Small Business Administration and The CUBE at Midtown, a Reno-based business incubator and education center located in Midtown.
