Councilman Delgado Adds Four Little Free Libraries

Date:

oscar-delgado-300x288-5732242-5929251In partnership with the Carpenters Union and local artists, Reno City Councilman Oscar Delgado has helped to add four more little libraries to be built and painted to provide free books to the Reno community.

“As public libraries continue to face budget cuts and even closures, my hope is that we can come up with creative solutions to promote literacy. I want to thank the carpenters, artists, and volunteers that helped put this program together for our community,” Delgado said.

The libraries are one example of the national Little Free Libraries program, promoting reading through a ‘take a book, leave a book’ exchange.

These four new boxes will be located at:

  • Arts For All Nevada (250 Court Street)
  • The Holland Project (140 Vesta Street)
  • Marmot Properties (587 Sinclair Street)
  • Susan Chandler (2000 McCloud Avenue)
