On July 22nd, Truckee Meadows Healthy Communities (TMHC) will be hosting their Family Health Festival, in collaboration with various local partners. The festival will provide Reno residents in need with free and low-cost medical services.
The TMHC Family Health Festival will feature services from Catholic Charities, Community Health Alliance, Food Bank of Northern Nevada, Immunize Nevada, Reno Fire and Police Departments, Renown Health, REMSA, Saint Mary’s Medical Group, Washoe County Health District and WIC Nutritionist.
The event will take place from 9 a.m. until noon at Miguel Ribera Park, 3925 Neil Road in Reno and will also include cooking tips, music by Artown, Las Cafeteras Mariachi Renya de Los Angeles.
Free services will be offered including dental fluoride treatment, the Food Bank’s mobile pantry, health check-ups including free sports physicals, healthy food recommendations by a nutritionist, immunizations for school-aged children, legal consultation, assistance with Medicaid and WIC applications, school uniforms (limited quantity) and the event is free to the public.
TMHC will continue its work to improve community health by focusing on the following areas: food access, employment, affordable housing, and healthcare access and education.
