Head to the Comstock and join Virginia City in celebrating its rich gold and silver mining heritage with Muck Fest: Mining, Whiskey & Cigars. The highlight of the event will be a single-jack competition, allowing visitors to experience a day in the life of a miner. A prize of up to $1,000 is at stake for the best single-jack miner.
Visitors can also sample 20 different varieties of whiskey, along with their choice of cigar. Tickets for the whiskey tasting are $25 and available for purchase here.
The littlest miners will have fun at the Muck Fest, too. There will be a cookie station teaching youngsters about mining and the reclamation process. They can also test their luck at the Virginia City Mining Company, panning for gold and gems. There will be tours available at discounted rates of Chollar Mine, Ponderosa Mine Tour, Virginia City Mining Company, the Comstock Gold Mill and more.
Muck Fest takes place Saturday, June 13 from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. in the Delta Parking Lot.
