High Priest from Tokyo Visits Reno Buddhist Center

hosshu_koken_ss-3630225-5388515The Reno Buddhist Center is hosting a visit from Rev. Koken Otani, the Hosshu or High Priest of their lineage, on Saturday, June 27, 2015.

He and a group of five senior Buddhist priests from Higashi Tokyo will offer a traditional Buddhist service at 10 am at the Buddhist Center,  820 Plumas street in Reno. There will also be a Dharma talk from the Hosshu and sutra chanting. Seating is limited, so please arrive promptly.

“This is a tremendous honor.  Otani Sensei is the 26th generation in our Buddhist lineage.  That is 750 years of continuous connection to the Dharma teachers of the past,” said Matthew Goddard, a member of the Reno Buddhist Center.
