Downtown properties join forces to celebrate classic cars and bygone eras
In advance of the premier summertime classic car event, downtown Reno will hum with the sound of powerful engines and dreamy sighs as classic cars from bygone eras line the streets on Friday, May 29 and Saturday, May 30, 2015 from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. for Hot August Nights Spring Fever Revival.
Free live entertainment, provided by the Silver Legacy Resort Casino, will take place from the outside stage on 4th Street and Virginia Street. Performances include:
Friday, May 29
Jim Shoe & The Sneakers from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Route 66 from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m.
Saturday, May 30
Night Flight from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Hindsight from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m.
The event features food, beverage and booths filled with memorabilia and merchandise to peruse and purchase adding to the showcase of classic vehicles on display in downtown Reno. A Celebrity Show-n-Shine takes place from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, May 30 where 10 winners will be awarded from the stage at 4th Street and Virginia Street at 6 p.m.
“We think of Spring Fever Revival as the kickoff event to our main event taking place Aug. 2—9,” said Tony Marini, executive director of Hot August Nights. “Spring Fever Revival ignites excitement from our fans and participants going into the main event. We’d like to encourage anyone who is going to participate in Hot August Nights to purchase their registration now, doing so will not only save them money as registration prices change June 1, but provide them with a free entry into Spring Fever Revival.”
