Designed to dive further into the public relations profession, the workshop sessions will focus on brand journalism, crisis communications, maximizing digital content, communicating in video platforms, leadership within an organization, current tools and more.
The workshop is open to professionals in marketing, communications, media, advertising, public relations and publicity roles.
Early bird registration is $99 for PRSA members, APRs, students and retirees and $159 for nonmembers by April 1. Regular registration is $129 for APRs, $149 for members, $199 for nonmembers and $99 for students and retirees.
Tickets are also available for the lunch only, featuring a keynote speaker from Bitch Media, a nonprofit media organization that provides and encourages an engaged, thoughtful feminist response to mainstream media and popular culture. The cost is $20 for members, $35 for nonmembers and $15 for students and retirees. Register at www.prsasierra.org for the workshop and the luncheon.
“This workshop caters to every professional, whether entry-level or with decades of experience,” said Alison Gaulden, APR, president of Sierra Nevada PRSA. “Each session provides an opportunity to delve deeper into the nitty-gritty of specific topics, lifting you from the standard PowerPoint fare so common in standard lectures.”
The event will feature three distinct tracks, offering something for every practitioner.
Attendees can choose between the Tactics (entry level), Strategies (mid-level) and Leadership (solo/vast experience level) tracks or mix and match sessions that they want to attend.
Proceeds provide value-added professional development for the Reno-Tahoe community of public relations practitioners, as well as benefit the local chapter and its goal to support the student public relations chapter at the University of Nevada, Reno.
