Nevada Poetry Out Loud Results Announced

’07 Nevada POL winner Jake Reid, Douglas County winner Dominique Groffman, Eleanor Billington with the National Endowment for the Arts

The Nevada “Poetry Out Loud” finals were held recently at the Siena Hotel and Casino. Douglas High School’s Dominique Groffman took first place, reciting Often Rebuked, Yet Always Back Returning by Emily Bronte. She will be heading to Washington, D.C. April 28-29 to participate in the finals.

College of Southern Nevada High School West’s Dylan Baker took second place reciting Joanie Mackowski’s The Larger. Wooster High School’s Whitney Reyes took third place reciting Naomi Shihab Nye’s Famous.
