Moana Nursery shares love of orchids and pets


Two of Moana Nursery’s loves, orchids and cats: Moana hosts the Nevada Humane Society this Saturday, February 7, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Babs (ID: 176103) is one of the Humane Society’s many great felines looking for a loving home.

Moana Nursery hosts Nevada Humane Society pet adoption during their Orchid Show on Saturday, February 7, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Day 2 of the Northern Nevada Orchid Society’s annual orchid show, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., includes a free seminar, Phalaenopsis – Everything You Always Wanted to Know but Were Afraid to Ask, from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m.

The Nevada Humane Society will also be on-site with pets for adoption from 11 a.m. to 2 pm.

The orchid show continues thru 2 p.m. Sunday, February 8, with another free seminar, The Art of Repotting Orchids, from 12 noon to 1 p.m.

Near-capacity shelters ask for community’s help

The kennels at the Washoe County Regional Animal Services on Tuesday morning reached their capacity and officials say they need the help of residents to reduce the crowding.
