Truckee Meadows Tomorrow announced today its 2015 community forum. The public is invited to attend the event to be held Thursday, January 29, at Renown Regional Medical Center, Mack Auditorium, at 1155 Mill Street.
A networking reception will begin at 5 p.m., and the program starts at 5:30.
A panel of experts will discuss childhood reading success and its impact on quality of life. The panelists are:
· Traci Davis, interim superintendent, Washoe County School District
· Karen Barsell, president & CEO, United Way of Northern Nevada and the Sierra
· Julie Ullman, managing librarian, South Valleys Library.
Participants are invited to bring a new or gently used book for students in grades K-6 in support of the Washoe County School District Read and Succeed Program.
There will also be opportunities at the forum to:
• Network with others concerned about quality of life issues
• Enjoy food and beverages courtesy of Washoe Education Association
• View the “Take it Personally!” digital video and photo challenge contest winners
• Learn about trends in the community’s 33 quality of life indicators
• Find out how you can engage for community improvement.
