The public is invited to attend a free special screening of “Alive Inside”, a documentary exploring music’s ability to combat memory loss, on Tuesday, Feb. 3 at 6:30 p.m. in the Nightingale Concert Hall, Church Fine Arts Building at the University of Nevada, Reno.
Winner of the ‘Audience Award’ at the 2014 Sundance Film Festival, “Alive Inside” chronicles the astonishing experiences of individuals around the country who have been revitalized through the simple experience of listening to music.
The screening will be followed by a Q&A session with Michael Rossato-Bennett, writer, director and producer of “Alive Inside;” Ryan Elisabeth Reid, writer and director of “Henri”, a play about Alzheimer’s disease; Jane Fisher, PhD, professor of clinical psychology and director of Nevada Caregiver Support Center at the University of Nevada, Reno and Shirley Randolph, care partner, from the Alzheimer’s Association, Northern Nevada.
This event is part of the Sanford Center for Aging’s Distinguished Speaker Series 2015 and is hosted by the University’s Division of Health Sciences and Alzheimer’s Association, Northern Nevada.
