Reno/Tahoe Senior Winter Games is organized by the City of Reno’s Parks, Recreation, and Community Services Department and is for athletes 50 and older. The deadline to register is Friday, January 23; forms may be mailed in, emailed, or dropped off in person at Evelyn Mount Northeast Community Center, Neil Road Recreation Center, or Teglia’s Paradise Park Activity Center.

Senior Games includes more than a dozen sports and activities, such as ski/snowboard downhill racing, cross country skiing/snowshoeing, and hockey slapshot/ice skating for outdoor enthusiasts.

There’s also pickleball, table tennis, bowling, archery, and Texas Hold’em Poker for those who prefer to remain indoors; a new activity this year is the Cribbage Tournament.

The City of Reno would like to thank its sponsors, the Reno Senior Citizen Advisory Committee and Senior Care Plus, for their support. This year Senior Care Plus sponsorship included the purchase of lift tickets and covering the cost of trail fees for the downhill skiing and cross country skiing/snowshoeing events.

Circus Circus Reno has been selected to be the home base this year with many of the events happening in the hotel’s convention space. In addition, Circus Circus is offering a great room package for Reno/Tahoe Senior Winter Games participants. Room prices range from $27 Sunday through Thursday to $59-$65 on Friday and Saturday.

These prices include an upgrade to the North Tower Deluxe Rooms, a $20 value, at no additional cost. The City of Reno will also offer a nightly complimentary hospitality room for Senior Games participants.
