It was with a heavy heart that I learned today of the death of Samantha “Sam” Wang, journalism student at UNR and former ThisisReno intern. She died in December from a heart infection that ultimately led to organ failure.
Sam graciously interned for us last summer, getting little in return, with dreams of becoming a fashion writer.
I encourage those who enjoyed her arts and events news coverage to give her articles, photography and videos another review. Her articles are archived here. She gave voice to a number of events in our community that didn’t get much air time elsewhere.
We are proud of her legacy and her contributions.
She was just shy of graduation and is well deserving of a posthumously awarded degree.
