Brewery hosts first outdoor winter beer festival

freeze-your-pints-off-98x300-4170013-9704009On Saturday, Feb. 21, Under the Rose Brewing Company will host the outdoor winter beer festival, Freeze Your Pints Off, in the back alley behind the popular brewery on Fourth Street.

The event will feature more than 12 local breweries showcasing  strong beers, winter warmers and barrel-aged brews.

The festival also features music by DJ MoJo JoJo. Three food trucks will be on hand. Tickets start at $45 and include beer tasting, a meal ticket and a commemorative tasting cup. For more information or to purchase tickets, visit www.undertherosebrewing.com.

“We are thrilled to put on an event that really showcases the incredible beers being created right here in Reno, Sparks and the surrounding areas,” said Scott Emond, owner and brewmaster at Under the Rose. “This is definitely going to be a unique event and we’re looking forward to seeing everyone decked out in their winter gear enjoying great beer, good food and fun entertainment.”

Participating breweries include BJs Restaurant & Brewhouse, Great Basin Brewing Company, High Sierra Brewing Company, Imbib Custom Brews, Pigeon Head Brewery, Stoneyhead Brewery, Tahoe Mountain Brewing Company, The Brasserie Saint James, The Brew Brothers, The Brewer’s Cabinet, The Brewing Lair, The Depot Craft Brewery and more.

“Northern Nevada is definitely at a turning point in terms of its growth and the burgeoning brewing industry is a prime example of that growth,” said Emond. “It’s an exciting time and Under the Rose is proud to be a part of it.”
