Shortly before 5 p.m. on December 16, 2014 several subjects began to argue in the 900 block of Manhattan Street in north Reno. As the argument escalated, parties from both sides produced weapons.

One subject fired several rounds that struck an 18-year-old Hispanic male who was involved in the fight. Several unknown males then left the scene, with some seen leaving in an older white 4 door passenger car.

The 18-year-old was transported to Renown where he died. The deceased male has been identified as Juan Jose Ramirez.

Detectives responded to the scene and, after speaking with several witnesses, it was determined that the incident was gang related. The investigation is continuing with a possible arrest(s) being made in the near future.
