Santa and Ronald McDonald team up to benefit families

RENO, Nev. (November 13, 2014) – Renowned celebrities, Santa and Ronald McDonald, will be at The Grove, Saturday, Dec. 13, for the annual Breakfast with Santa, presented by Alice 96.5 and 106.9 MORE FM of the Reno Media Group, The Grove, McDonald’s and Model Dairy. The third annual Breakfast with Santa benefits Ronald McDonald House Charities® Northern Nevada (RMHC® Northern Nevada), a non-profit that houses families whose children are receiving medical treatment in local hospitals. The breakfast is open to all families ready to mingle with these famous individuals.

Attendees can pick from two seating times, 8 a.m. and 10:30 a.m., and are encouraged to reserve tickets at early bird rates before Dec. 1. Tickets are $10 for children 12 and under and $15 for adults on or before Nov. 30, $15 for children 12 and under and $20 for adults after. Guests are encouraged to wear festive pajamas to comfortably enjoy a breakfast buffet, participate in a pajama contest, play games and visit with Santa and Ronald McDonald.

“This event gives attendees a fun way to support Northern Nevada’s Ronald McDonald House and to give a small measure of refuge to families dealing with their child’s medical issues,” said Lori Heeren, Reno Media Group’s vice president and general manager. “We’re proud to use the Reno Media Group platform to enable such good in our community.”

Bill Schulz, Connie Wray and Rudy Palominos of Alice 96.5 and Jeff Ryan and Tessa Marie from 106.9 MORE FM will act as masters of ceremony.

“We’re honored to continue this tradition with such charitable partners,” said Marty Ozer, executive director for RMHC Northern Nevada. “These are the events that help us serve the various families, from all walks of life with all manner of challenges, who find themselves unexpectedly in need and concerned for their child. Plus, we’ve all been very good at the House this year, so we’re anticipating a positive reunion with Santa.”
