Last year, the dental duo collected more than 700 pounds of candy and ITS Logistics shipped it on behalf of the team.

From Nov. 3 through 6, Pitts Orthodontics and Brosy Family Dentistry are encouraging you to bring in your unopened Halloween candy to the offices located at 4786 Caughlin Parkway, #305 and 175 Cadillac Place in Reno to be shipped to the troops through the annual program. The dental practices will pay one dollar for each pound of unopened candy.

“This year we want to collect more than 1,000 pounds so we’ll need everyone to kick in and bring us their treats,” said Dr. Mark Handelin of Pitts Orthodontics. “We are excited to see what we can collect to donate to the troops.”

“It’s important to us to support our troops; this is a fun way to partner with our patients and do something that brings Halloween to our soldiers,” said Dr. Arnie Pitts of Pitts Orthodontics.

Each year Operation Gratitude sends more than 100,000 care packages filled with snacks, entertainment and hygiene items and personal letters of appreciation addressed to U.S. service members deployed throughout the world.

Last year, offices of Pitts and Brosy along with ITS Logistics of Reno donated the delivery of 24 boxes of candy, 45 letters of gratitude and a box of toothbrushes totaling 700 pounds.
