Date:

Mingle Bells Party to connect creative, communications professionals in region to benefit Northern Nevada Children’s Cancer Foundation

mingle-bells-2014-211x300-7668023-1654902Communications and creative professionals from around the region are putting an old stereotype of industry-driven drinking to good use Wednesday, December 10, at Mingle Bells, a mixer that will benefit the Northern Nevada Children’s Cancer Foundation.

Coordinated by AIGA, AD2 Reno, Reno-Tahoe Chapter of the American Marketing Association (AMA), AAF Reno, Sierra Nevada Chapter of the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA), ACCESSTM Event Solutions, CPC Solutions and the Professional Saleswomen of Nevada, Mingle Bells begins at 6 p.m. at Duffy’s Ale House at the Reno Aces Ballpark.

Marketing, advertising, public relations, design, and communications workers are invited to don swanky slope apparel (sans clunky ski boots) for the evening’s “Let Us Après” theme at the close of another year.

Continuing its tradition, Mingle Bells proceeds will go to Northern Nevada Children’s Cancer Foundation’s, a non-profit that works to enhance the quality of life for children with cancer and their families by providing financial assistance and compassionate support programs while advocating for increased research funds and raising public awareness. Tickets are $35 for members of the co-hosting groups, $40 for non-members and $45 at the door. Students looking to enter related professional fields are encouraged to join at $25.

“It’s always nice to connect in person with the voices you hear on the phone or the names you see in your inbox throughout the year” said Anne McMillin, APR, current president of the Sierra Nevada Chapter of PRSA. “We invite all professionals to use Mingle Bells to transform their virtual work connections into more fruitful relationships.”

In addition to the valuable networking opportunities, Mingle Bells will feature silent auction items and raffle prizes available with the purchase of tickets. Frank Haxton from Digiman Studio will be on hand to capture festive images.

“Mingle Bells is an annual opportunity to bring everyone in our industry together,” said Colie McManus, director of ADDYs/Special events for AAF. “It’s a night where we can let our hair down, so we encourage everyone to consider joining for a memorable evening and help us raise some funds for a charity doing memorable work.”

Tickets can be purchased on the AAF website. For media inquiries, contact Rachel Gattuso at (775) 336-9453.
