Public invited to discussion transportation, quality of life in Reno

The Regional Transportation Commission of Washoe County is inviting members of the public to a luncheon featuring a discussion on transportation and the quality of life in the region. The luncheon will take place at RTC at 2050 Villanova Drive under the I-580 freeway on Wednesday, October 29th at 11:30 a.m. through 1 p.m. A presentation will begin at about noon. The event is being put on by Truckee Meadows Tomorrow, which is a non-profit organization, monitoring indicators of the quality of life in the area. Among these indicators are: health care, affordability, safety and transportation. The event is also sponsored by RTC.

The roundtable will feature a panel of speakers on the topic of how transportation impacts the area’s quality of life. The scheduled panelists are representatives of the Regional Transportation Commission, Nevada Department of Transportation and Federal Highway Administration.

All members of the public are invited to attend, however a $10 donation is requested to help Truckee Meadows Tomorrow continue its mission from those who are not already members. For more information, go to http://RTCwashoe.com and click on Hot Topics.
