KNPB honors Bradley family at Aged to Perfection Gala Oct. 16, 2014

As a founding Chairwoman of KNPB Channel 5, Joan was instrumental in bringing public television to northern Nevada, and remained an avid supporter of KNPB Channel 5 until her death. Both Joan and Bud demonstrated a strong commitment to the local community through support of various organizations such as University of Nevada, Reno, Boy Scouts, the Reno Air Races, Reno Philharmonic Association, Nevada Museum of Art, Desert Research Institute, Nevada Women’s Fund, and Assistance League of Reno-Sparks, to name a few.

Joe and Liz Bradley have carried on the family legacy of community involvement. Joe is a trustee of the E.L. Cord Foundation, has been president of the University of Nevada, Reno Foundation and served two terms as president of the Athletic Association of the University of Nevada, Reno. Liz is a facilitator for the Saint Mary’s “On With Life” breast cancer support group, a founding member of Moms on the Run and currently serves on the board of trustees for The Children’s Cabinet.

Past Aged to Perfection honorees include, Senator Bill Raggio, Reno Mayor Bob Cashell, Bruno Benna, Norm Dianda, Joy and Joe Crowley, Jennifer and Phil Satre and Gail and John Sande, III.

This years’ Aged to Perfection is hosted by Mark L. Walberg of “Antiques Roadshow.” Cocktails begin at 5:30 p.m. and dinner is served at 7 p.m., followed by a live auction and video tribute presentation of the Bradleys. The gala dinner menu was created with assistance from Johnathan Wright, food and drink editor at the Reno-Gazette Journal.

All proceeds help support KNPB Channel 5 programs and educational services utilized throughout northern Nevada and northeastern California.
