Date:

nes-lerpa-italian-show-300x186-9395302-2243263This Saturday, October 25, there will be an opportunity to meet internationally known Danish artist Nes Lerpa and to view some of his newest works of art during a pop-up show and lecture about abstraction in the 21st Century. The free event takes place at the Silver City School House, 385 High Street, in Silver City, Nevada, at 6 p.m.

Nes Lerpa is a celebrated artist who works with oil, acrylic, watercolor, and ceramics, and has had shows throughout Europe and in the United States, China and India.

Born in Denmark, today Lerpa lives in the hills behind Piacenza in Northern Italy, and in the woods north of Copenhagen. His work has been inspired by Hans Øllgaard, André Masson, Phillip Martin and Emilio Vedova.

He notes that their friendship has been of great importance to him, as well as his travels to Spain, France, England, Italy, Lappland, Morocco and India, where he has stayed for long periods of time.

Nes Lerpa’s visit to the historic community of Silver City is made possible through a partnership of the Silver City Volunteer Library, St. Mary’s Art Center, and the Silver City Arts group. Nes Lerpa is the Resident Artist at St. Mary’s Art Center in Virginia City this Fall. For more information about the October 25 event, please call Quest Lakes at 775-847-0742.
