The Reno Fire Department will again be supporting Breast Cancer Awareness Month during October 2014 by wearing pink uniform shirts that have a white ribbon on the left sleeve.
The Reno Fire Department is selling the shirts for $10 each, with the proceeds benefiting Moms on the Run, a nonprofit organization in Reno. Moms on the Run assists local breast and gynecological cancer patients during their treatments.
“Supporting our local citizens and charities is very important to us,” Fire Equipment Operator Brandon Blackbern says. “We also recognize Autism Awareness Month during April with special shirts.”
