Date:

tracy-generating-station-555x416-7279518-1991854NV Energy is hosting a public open house at the Tracy Generating Station to celebrate projects completed at the plant site, including a 2-mile stretch of the Tahoe-Pyramid Bikeway and The Nature Conservancy’s Truckee River Restoration Project.

The free event will be held on Sunday, Oct. 5, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. near the river on the northwest corner of the power plant site, which is located approximately 17 miles east of Reno along Interstate 80. Light refreshments will be provided.

Visitors are invited to bring their bicycles for a group ride to the open house from the Mustang trailhead located off the Mustang exit (Visit www.tpbikeway.org to sign up.), and there will be guided walks to explain how a section of the river near the power plant was restored to its original meandering course.

Displays at the open house will highlight power plant operations, NV Energy electric system improvements, and the company’s investments in renewable energy.

To reach the open house from Reno, take I-80 East to the USA Parkway exit about a mile east of the power plant. Take the first left off USA Parkway, turn right at the stop sign, and follow the signs to the parking area.

Anyone planning on attending is asked to RSVP at [email protected] or to call (775) 834-4399.
