Full Moon Hike at Washoe Lake State Park Oct. 8, 2014

256px-washoe_lake_state_park_2101158767-1207492-5447015WASHOE VALLEY – Take a moonlit walk while learning the history of Washoe Valley. This is a one-mile round-trip hike to the gazebo on the Deadman’s Creek Trail. Reservations are required by calling 775-687-4319, or e-mailing [email protected]. Please leave your name, phone number and number of people in your party. The hike is limited to 30 participants. Park personnel will call back to confirm your reservation. Please leave your pets at home, dogs are not allowed on this hike. Dress appropriately by wearing sturdy hiking boots (no flip-flops) and proper clothing for the weather. Participants should also bring water and a flashlight.

WHAT: Full Moon Walk

WHEN: Wednesday, October 8 at 7:30 p.m. Estimated 1.5 hour event.

WHERE: Meet at the overflow parking area on the south side of the lake. Washoe Lake State Park is located 18 miles south of Reno and five miles north of Carson City. Travel on U.S. 395, take the Eastlake Boulevard Exit and park entrances are on the west side of Eastlake Boulevard.

WHO: This event is open to the public and is sponsored by Nevada State Parks.

COST: There is no charge for the program, but there is a $7/vehicle entrance fee. Nevada residents receive a $2 discount.
