Ronald McDonald House Charities® Northern Nevada , a non-profit organization that houses families with children at local hospitals, is bringing its Red Shoe Gala to the Atlantis Casino Resort Spa for a third year. The October 10, 2014, event will raise funds for the organization’s mission with the theme “Make Someone Happy!”

“Almost 7,500 families have stayed in our House since its start in 1987 and in 2013 alone our 12 rooms were used 1,830 times by families,” said Marty Ozer, executive director for RMHC® Northern Nevada. “As our region’s medical capabilities grow we expect the number of families we serve to increase, making this fundraiser critical for our organization.”

The 3rd Annual Red Shoe Gala will offer citizens an easy way to support the Reno Ronald McDonald House® and the families it serves. Ozer said that, as a way to thank supporters, the event will now be on a Friday and will incorporate additional entertainment elements.

The Gala begins at 6 p.m. with cocktails, photo opportunities and the famed red shoe contest. Dinner starts at 7 p.m. followed shortly by the program, including the induction of a new member to the charity’s Red Shoe Circle and the showing of Reno Ronald McDonald House® success stories made possible by donors.

“We want this evening to be memorable for guests, just as their contributions are memorable to the families we serve at the House,” said Ozer. “Our underlying purpose with the 3rd Annual Red Shoe Gala is to give children what they need most when they’re sick: their families.”
