CARSON CITY, Nev. — The Carson Valley Inn in Minden will celebrate its 30th anniversary with motocross events and a free Blues Monsters concert Aug. 24.

A motocross show produced by Livfast, an FMX Action Sports company, will begin at 5 p.m. in the north parking lot next to TJ’s Corral — the Inn’s outdoor entertainment venue. X Games gold medalist Lance Coury will be one of the riders performing tricks during the show at 5, 6 and 7 p.m. He and other riders plan such aerial stunts at 30-foot high jumps and back flips.

The Blues Monsters will perform from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. in TJ’s Corral. The Reno/North Lake Tahoe-based group delivers a combination of R&B, funk, jazz and Chicago-style blues.

Free children’s activities and free popcorn and ice cream will be available throughout the evening. Water, sodas and beers will be sold.

Free cake and champagne will be served inside the Carson Valley Inn from 2 to 3 p.m. and 7 to 8 p.m. Free birthday T-shirts will be distributed at random times throughout the day while supplies last, and INN Club members will earn triple points from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. There also will be drawings for up to $5,000 in the casino at 3, 4, 9 and 10 p.m.

The Carson Valley Inn is on U.S. 395 in Minden near Nevada 88, 20 minutes from Lake Tahoe’s south shore and 45 minutes south of Reno. The property includes a casino, sports and race book, 149-room hotel, 74-room motor lodge, 59-site RV park, TJ’s Corral Outdoor Concert and Event Center and a convenience store with Shell gas and diesel fuel. There also are banquet and meeting rooms and services plus three dining facilities: CV Steak, featuring steaks, seafood, pasta dishes and more; Katie’s, a 24-hour restaurant; and Job’s Perk, selling coffee drinks, pastries and sundries.
