Bartley Ranch Regional Park comes to life in July with music, poetry, and images that capture the beauty and splendor of the Silver State. In the spirit of celebrating Nevada’s 150th Anniversary of Statehood, photographers from throughout the region will have their favorite Nevada themed pieces on display during the Ranch’s “Home Means Nevada” photography exhibition.
This official Nevada Sesquicentennial Exhibit will be open daily 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., from July 1 through July 31. The exhibit is free and part of the “Evenings on the Ranch” entertainment series. “Home Means Nevada” will grace the Ranch’s Western Heritage Interpretive Center.
The “Evenings on the Ranch” entertainment series begins Wednesday, July 2, featuring performances on the Plaza by Northern Nevada Bluegrass Association and Silver State Young Chautauqua starting 7 p.m. on July 2; Cowboy Poet Tony Argento and Silver State Young Chautauqua at 6:45 p.m. on July 9; Country Western music by Charlie Edsall and Wild Horse Drive at 7 p.m. on July 16; and, Bluegrass group Sierra Silver Strings at 7 p.m. on July 23.
Come out earlier to see the Ranch’s famous historic buildings open for display Wednesday evenings starting at 6 p.m. Refreshments will be available. Join the Rangers for a guided hike Thursday, July 10, as part of Truckee Meadows Parks Foundation’s Discover Your Parks summer evening walks at 7 p.m. The events are free to the public but donations are encouraged.
