Rail City Casino revives Sparks 4th of July event

rail-city-casino-300x300-6362439-3025972RAIL CITY NEWS — Rail City Casino is planning a 4th of July Festival in its parking lot in an effort to offset the loss of the popular Star Spangled Sparks event that had been hosted for years at the Sparks Marina. The City of Sparks recently announced it would no longer be hosting the event.

“We realized a lot of locals enjoyed the daytime festivities, so we felt it was important to offer something for the community to do on this great holiday,” commented Rail City General Manager Barry Phillips.

On fairly short notice, Rail City has contacted many of the vendors and participants from past events and will host the activities in the east side parking lot starting at 2pm on Friday, July 4th. Activities include a rock climbing wall, face painting, crafters, karaoke, food & beverage, basketball, and kids’ games. There will also be a dunk tank, which will allow guests to try to dunk members of the Rail City management team, including Phillips.

“I look forward to hosting the event and taking my turn in the dunk tank,” says Phillips. “It’s our first year, but I’m sure it will be a blast!”
