Nevada Department of Agriculture offering free pesticide container disposal

SPARKS – The Nevada Department of Agriculture, Interstate Ag Plastics and pesticide users are offering a free opportunity to properly discard unwanted pesticide containers.

Nursery operators, landscapers, licensed pest control operators, farmers, ranchers and other pesticide users, including homeowners, are eligible to bring unwanted containers for free disposal.

Only clean, dry, tripled-rinsed pesticide containers will be accepted.  The collection locations are listed below. Please call in advance before dropping off the containers:

2) Stanislaus Farm Supply, Yerington, 775-463-5599

3) Ron’s Seed and Supply, Winnemucca, 775-623-5053

6) Rocky Mountain Agronomics, Fallon, 775-428-2323

7) United Ag Services, Dyer, 775-353-3715

The public is reminded that NAC 445B.22067 prohibits the open burning of any combustible refuse, waste, garbage or oil, except as specifically exempted, is prohibited.
