Enter NevadaGrown Recipe Contest through June 30

Date:

Northern Nevadans have until June 30 to submit favorite recipes featuring local foods to the NevadaGrown recipe contest. All those who submit a recipe are entered to win $300 worth of local food and a 7-cubic-foot freezer. They also have a chance at being included in the NevadaGrown cookbook. Participants should include at least one seasonal ingredient grown in Nevada.

Whether the ingredients come from your own backyard, the neighborhood farmers market, or a local grocery store, entries can be submitted via Facebook or emailed to [email protected]. Photos of recipe cards are also accepted. A complete listing of area farmers markets can be found on the NevadaGrown website. Shoppers are encouraged to get to “Know Your Farmer” and look for the NevadaGrown banner or label to make sure the product’s origins are close to home.

From salads to main dishes and desserts, send in the best from that recipe box. And don’t forget those delicious meat recipes perfect for summer barbecues.
