INCLINE VILLAGE –With five weeks and counting, Board members of the 8th annual Red White and Tahoe Blue festival are fine-tuning the details and focusing on quality and commemoration throughout the festival’s 25 events that are scheduled for July 3 – 5, 2014.
“We took a good hard look at what we needed to do to sustain our festival for years to come,” noted Jim Smith who has chaired the event for the past six years. “The entire board concurred that our salute to our Veterans will always be our primary focus. In addition, our community and visitors expect and deserve the best that our imagination and market can provide so we will continue to improve the quality and service of our events each year. As such, we have reviewed our signature events and have made some nice modifications to some of our more popular programs. And first time in our eight year history, all of the events have an overall theme of “Celebrating the 200th Anniversary of the Star-Spangled Banner”.
Some examples that mirror this mission are the new partnership with the Reno Philharmonic Orchestra which will offer a concert in sync to this year’s fireworks on July 4th, the re-creation of the popular Wine and Cheese event which has been rebranded as Wine and Dine in the Grove and the investment in top Billboard artist and American Country song-writer Billy Ray Cyrus who will be honoring fallen local American hero Michael Landsberry at the concert on July 5th . In an effort to strengthen the fanfare and fun of the Tahoe Salute’s Our Heroes Parade, all entry fees have been waived with “organizations of any shape and size welcome to enter their floats and bands for free,” said Smith.
Reno Philharmonic Concert Offers VIP Package with Shuttle, Seats and Service
Coined as the ‘finest seats and service in the house’, Red White and Tahoe Blue has created a VIP Concert Package which is priced at $200 (plus a processing fee) and is a fund-raiser that will be equally shared with Red White and Tahoe Blue and the Reno Philharmonic Orchestra. The Package includes off-site VIP parking, private shuttle, ticket to Wine and Dine in the Grove, private entrance to the Concert, VIP seats, access to the VIP Concert Tent, complimentary beverages, coffee from IV Coffee Lab and desserts from Big Water Grille. General Admission tickets are $10 for Youth and $40 for Adults. There is also a $125 VIP Reserved Seat ticket. Food and beverage will be available for purchase at the Concert as well.
Wine and Dine Showcases Local Chef, Regional Wines
The new Wine and Dine in the Grove event on July 4th will showcase the talents of Chef Chris Daniel of Big Water Grille who will be on site to prepare and serve a selection of hors d’ouvres to pair with some of the finer wines of the region. “If all goes as planned, members of the Reno Philharmonic Youth Orchestra will be on hand to complement what is coming together as a rather classy summer afternoon affair” noted Smith.
The event will be held at Aspen Grove across from Incline Beach from 5:00 pm to 7:30 pm. Tickets can be purchased through the festival’s website at a discounted rate of $55; tickets are $60 at the door and include food, wine and a commemorative wine glass. Gayle and Tom Kolassa annually sponsor this event.
Billy Ray Cyrus To Honor America Soldier, Release New CD
In a continued effort to bring quality entertainment to the community, the festival Board has contracted with American Country songwriter, singer and actor Billy Ray Cyrus who will be on stage July 5th from 7:00 pm – 9:30 pm at the Village Green. Cyrus plans to share a new Collection CD, among other top Billboard-rated hits during this fundraising concert. A very special commemoration to fallen local American hero Michael Landsberry is planned as well.
Tickets are priced at $10 for Youth; $40 for Adults, and $100 for a reserved VIP Seat. For a complete night on the town, the festival also offers a $125 VIP Concert Package which includes off-site parking, private shuttle, private entrance to the Concert, VIP seats, access to the VIP Concert Tent, two beverage tickets and entrance to the preceding Beer & Brats BBQ.
