Growing Clayton Middle School’s future

269462_165871673478564_2523424_n-300x158-2661640-5443490GROWING CLAYTON’S FUTURE NEWS RELEASE – Archie Clayton Middle School is hosting its 2nd annual “Growing Clayton’s Future” spring education fundraiser on Friday, May 9, from  5:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.  Held at the Garden Shop Nursery in west Reno, this fun-filled adult event offers live music, fare from popular Reno food trucks, beverages, raffle prizes and a silent auction.  The event is open to the public.

Among the auction items, there will be re-purposed furniture built by Clayton students out of wooden pallets.  Several chairs, tables, and benches will be available.  The finished project is quite impressive.

Popular local Food Trucks favorites will be providing food, with a portion of the sales being donated back to the school.  Mellow Yellow, Kenji’s, Tasters Paradise and Gourmelt will be present at the event.

Raffles prizes include: Aces tickets, golf and ski packages, and gift certificates from local restaurants.  The grand prize is an X-Box One with a Game Stop gift certificate.

Growing Clayton’s Future is Friday, May 9, 5:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. at The Garden Shop Nursery, 3636 Mayberry Drive, in Reno. Admission is free. All proceeds directly support Clayton Middle School.

Miriam Hodgman is originally from San Francisco. She previously was the communications coordinator for the largest hunger-relief organization in Sonoma County, California. She has a bachelor’s degree in American history, with a minor in American Indian studies, from San Francisco State University, and has a master’s degree in public administration from Sonoma State University. She enjoys training a variety of martial arts.
