WCSO NEWS —   The Truckee Meadows Fire Protection District and Washoe County Sheriff’s Office would like to thank everyone who supported the 2nd annual Guns and Hoses Golf Tournament sponsored by the Hidden Valley Country Club. This year’s tournament was held on Monday, May 12 and raised $17,821 for the Northern Nevada Children’s Cancer Foundation.

Eighty-four golfers representing the two agencies put down their guns and hoses and took a vacation day to take part in this year’s fundraising tournament. The competition was close, with this year’s tournament trophy going to the Truckee Meadows Fire Protection District.

However, the real winners are the children who receive support from the Northern Nevada Children’s Cancer Foundation. Thanks to the Hidden Valley Country Club’s sponsorship, 100 percent of the player’s entry fees of $100 per player went directly to the Children’s Cancer Foundation.

Local businesses, organizations and individuals donated additional sponsorships and raffle prizes to increase fundraising efforts.
