“Addressing the mental health needs of our children and youth has been a priority for me throughout my career,” said Sandoval.  “I am honored to once again host the children’s mental health summit to share information about the programs and services offered in our state and discuss ways to support healthier communities. The collaboration between statewide health and wellness organizations plays a large role in the development of a healthy and safe Nevada.”

The summit featured representatives from the Department of Health and Human Services, state and county mental health consortiums, and city health and safety organizations.

It focused on ways to raise the level of awareness and care for Nevada’s youth while discussing opportunities for greater collaborations.  Participants heard from a number of professionals regarding mental and behavioral health strategies, program effectiveness and the progress made during the past year.
