Omega Delta Sigma (ODS), Nevada Alpha, which is the co-ed veterans fraternity at the University of Nevada, will be holding a 30-Hour Board Game Marathon. A portion of the proceeds will support The Veterans Guest House. The public is welcome to attend and play.
Since 2011, the Nevada ODS chapter has been dedicated to assisting Reno area veterans and the Reno community. This year, ODS will be hosting the Board Game Marathon as a way to support The Veterans Guest House., a “home away from home” For US Military Service Veterans receiving medical treatment and for families of veterans who are receiving care in the Reno/Sparks Nevada area.
Starting on Saturday, April 5th, which is International Table Top Gaming Day, ODS members will remain awake and participating in board gaming for 30 hours. Each hour is being sponsored by generous donators.
The event is not only open to the public, but people are encouraged to come by and participate. Music, game demonstration and tutorials and food will be provided. There is donation-tier pricing on the event’s website (www.odsfundraising.com) for those who wish to pull up a seat and game alongside members. There is discounted-tier pricing for those who reserve a seat prior to the event, and/or a student at UNR or TMCC. Gamers who come sponsored at the minimum of $2 per hour are admitted free.
For those who cannot make the event, every hour will be broadcast on Twitch Tv!! Watch as members try to make sense of Candy Land at four in the morning.
ODS looks forward to building great relationships with the Reno community, sponsors, gamers, Veterans and press, and board-game fans—and with only two days until kick off, the Brothers and Sisters of Omega Delta Sigma are in full gear to ensure a good time is had by all.
