City of Reno invites public to opening of Fire Station 12

station12-300x200-8231875-1306380The city of Reno and community partners will celebrate the grand opening of the Damonte Ranch Fire Station 12 during a public Open House on Saturday, April 5, from 9 a.m. to noon.
The open house will feature a free pancake breakfast provided by Damonte Ranch Homes. Complimentary balloons, coloring books and fire hats will be given out to children. Guests will have the opportunity to have their photo taken next to a fire truck and take a tour of the facilities.
In addition, the Reno Fire Department will be giving away free ADA-compliant smoke detectors and alarms specially made to alert hearing-impaired persons.“We are looking forward to a great turnout at Saturday’s open house,” says Fire Chief Michael Hernandez, who recognizes the importance of public safety and the Reno City Council’s priority to Provide Safe and Livable Neighborhoods. “Our department seeks opportunities to engage with the community we protect and to assure our residents that we stand ready to respond to any emergency.”

Perry Di Loreto’s company, Nevada Tri Partners, donated land for the new fire station and was responsible for the design and construction of Fire Station 12. “It’s a sincere pleasure to support an event that welcomes the Damonte Ranch neighborhood and the greater Reno community to come out and experience the new station,” Di Loreto says.
The station is at 1190 Steamboat Parkway in south Reno. Parking will be available in the RC Willey lot across the street.

Funding for Fire Station 12

The primary source of funding for the station was contributions from new development, provided by :

  • Nevada Tri Partners LLC (donated approximately three acres and designed and constructed the site improvements and building)
  • Corona Cyan LLC
  • South Meadows Property LP
