Flutist Carmella Cao, the first prize winner in the Reno Chamber Orchestra’s (RCO) 25th annual “College Concerto Competition,” performs Carl Nielsen’s Flute Concerto with Maestro Theodore Kuchar and the RCO at the closing concerts of the 2013-14 season on Saturday, April 26 at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday, April 27 at 2:00 p.m. at UNR’s Nightingale Concert Hall.
These concerts also feature Franz Josef Haydn’s dramatic “Lord Nelson” Mass with the University of Nevada, Reno Chamber Singers (Dr. Paul Torkelson, director), as well as Maestro Kuchar’s arrangement of Janacek’s String Quartet after Tolstoy’s “Kreutzer Sonata.”
