University’s Center for Economic Development looks to educate agricultural producers on business plans

FALLON — The University of Nevada, Reno Center for Economic Development is offering a workshop on agricultural business plan development. This is the fourth of five marketing workshops being held through June.

The workshop will be 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., Saturday, March 22, at Western Nevada College’s Fallon Campus. The cost is $35 until March 14, and $45 thereafter. Seating is limited, and registration is required and can be done online at www.wnc.edu/sci.

“For producers starting a new business, a well-formed business plan provides a road map to reaching their goals and can help strengthen their overall business,” Maggie W. Cowee, food systems analyst with the University Center for Economic Development, said. “During times of economic uncertainty, it is important for experienced producers to revisit their business plan to ensure they are still on track.”

During the daylong workshop, featured speaker Marie Gibson will coach students through creating their own business plan as they learn about each element of an agricultural business plan.

For additional information, contact Maggie Cowee at 775-771-4719 or [email protected].
