The Breema Center will present two events at the Reno Buddhist Center, 820 Plumas Street, open to anyone interested in living a more meaningful life.

On Friday, March 28, a free “Experience Breema” evening from 7-8:30pm will introduce people to Breema. On Saturday and Sunday, March 29-30, the weekend workshop, titled “Breema and the Nine Principles of Harmony,” will provide a more in-depth, experiential exploration. Jon Schreiber, D.C., Director of the Breema Center in Oakland, CA, will lead both events. The author of several books and CDs about Breema, he has been teaching Breema internationally for over 30 years.

Breema bodywork and Self-Breema exercises use nurturing touch, tension-relieving stretches, and rhythmic movements to create physical, mental, and emotional balance. At the heart of Breema are the Nine Principles of Harmony, the foundation of a universal philosophy. Practiced together with the principles, the bodywork exchanges and self-care exercises relax and energize both giver and receiver, and are the vehicle for experiencing the principles in action.

“Breema provides a dynamic approach to movement and touch that offers new possibilities for relating to ourselves and to the world around us more harmoniously,” Schreiber said. “It teaches us practical steps we can take to unify the energies of mind, body, and feelings to become more present, not only while practicing Breema but in our daily activities.”

No bodywork experience is needed, but being comfortable working on a padded floor is recommended. Bodyworkers can receive NCBTMB CE for the workshop.

The cost is $175, or $150 paid by March 8; Saturday-only $100, or $85 paid by March 8. Pre-registration is advised. For information and to register, contact the Breema Center: (510) 428-0937, [email protected], or www.breema.com. Also visit our Facebook page or The Breema Channel on YouTube.
