GOVERNOR’S OFFICE NEWS RELEASE

CARSON CITY Governor Brian Sandoval today announced he has appointed Julia Teska as director of administration effective April 7.  Teska is currently the deputy superintendent for business and support services at the Department of Education.  Director Jeff Mohlenkamp will be retiring from state service on April 4.

“Julia has an intimate knowledge of the state budget and brings with her a wealth of experience in government finance,” said Sandoval.  “Her extensive work in education and health and human services will be of great value to the state of Nevada.  I am pleased Julia has accepted this position and look forward to working with her as we build the next state budget.”

Teska has over 20 years of government finance experience at both the state and local levels, most recently as the deputy superintendent for business and support services at the Department of Education.  Julia previously spent 10 years in school district financial administration and six years in the State Budget Division working with the Department of Education and the Department of Health and Human Services.

“I am honored and humbled to be given the chance to continue to serve the citizens of Nevada in this new role,” said Teska.  “The governor’s priorities of improving education and mental health services for our citizens have long been priorities in my career.  I look forward to working with the governor and his administration to help move Nevada forward.”
