Now in it’s third year, School Upgrade will award three more schools with $10,000 each, bringing the total amount donated to $250,000. This year’s winners are Fernley Elementary School, Pau-Wa-Lu Middle School and Sparks High School.

With the awarded money, Fernley Elementary School will buy new playground equipment, Pau-Wa-Lu Middle School will replace deteriorated, outdoor lunch area benches and tables, and Sparks High School will replace the school’s soccer fields, which have previously been deemed unhealthy and unsafe.

“We are excited to see the improvements that these schools will be able to make,” Dolan said. “Many of our past winners have shared that their upgrades, while not directly in the classroom, have made students more excited to be on campus and as a result more engaged in the classroom.”

Entrants must be an employed public school principal in one of the following counties: Carson City, Churchill, Douglas, Humboldt, Lyon, Mineral, Pershing, Storey and Washoe at the time of entry. Publicly-funded elementary or secondary charter schools are eligible. In order to reach as many schools as possible, previous School Upgrade winners are not eligible. Previous winners include Coral Academy High School, Pine Middle School, Rita Cannan Elementary, and Dilworth Middle School.

Contest rules state that Dolan Auto Group reserves the right to cancel or modify the Promotion and award the funds through an alternate means if fraud or technical failure compromises the integrity of the Promotion, as determined by it in its sole discretion.
