“We are very excited to welcome this 2014 recruiting class into the Wolf Pack football family,” Polian said. “While last year’s class was our first group as a staff, this group is our first where we had an entire year to go through the evaluation process and then the recruitment of each of these individuals. We had the luxury of evaluating nearly every player in the spring of their junior year, we had many of these guys in camps, and we certainly spent a great deal of time with each of them during the contact periods. We know a great deal about this class and we are thrilled with the quality of people, students, and players that we are adding to our team.”

The class features 12 players on offensive, 14 players on defense and one athlete with 14 players in the trenches as offensive linemen, defensive linemen or tight ends. Three of the 27 comes from the junior college ranks as two-year transfers and the other 24 all have four years of eligibility.

“We feel like we have been able to address our needs, both on offense and defense, as well as specific positions,” Polian said. “We also feel like we have improved the overall athleticism of the team. Lastly, we have some members of this class that come from places outside of our normal recruiting territories.  To me, this illustrates the power of the University of Nevada and the people that represent it.

“I want to thank our coaching staff for their tremendous effort and sacrifice throughout this process and I want to recognize our support staff for wonderful job that they do in making it all run smoothly.  We also owe a debt of gratitude to all of the faculty and staff across our campus community who help us attract top-notch student-athletes.  On behalf of our staff, we cannot thank them enough for their generosity,” Polian said

The class was announced via social media beginning shortly after 5 a.m. with each of the recruits announced one-by-one on Twitter (@BrianPolian, @NevadaWolfPack and @NevadaFootball). Video highlights of each signee along with comments from Polian are already available at NevadaWolfPack.com’s National Signing Day page.
