Department of Agriculture and Return to Freedom ask for assistance in the adoption of horses gathered from the Virginia Range
SPARKS – The Nevada Department of Agriculture today issued a call for the public’s assistance in adopting estray horses gathered from the Virginia Range near Reno.
Horses are gathered by the Department only after public safety concerns are verified by the Department.
In agreement with the Return to Freedom Foundation American Wild Horse Sanctuary, a private non-profit, the organization has first option for the placement of the horses after being gathered. The adoption fee is $125 per horse.
Dozens of horses are available, including horses that have been trained by former inmate trainers. There are seven halter-broke horses, two who have been saddled and others that have not yet been gentled.
Rescue groups and private parties interested in adoption are encouraged to contact the Return to Freedom Foundation directly at 877-853-4696, [email protected] or [email protected].
